When they’re
biting, the fishing in The Passage is good. We have our share
of fishing stalwarts who combine years of local knowledge with persistence
to put fish on their tables and keep freezers well stocked.
Good sized bream and flathead are more common, but some massive
Jewfish — or Muloways have been hauled ashore. While we don'wt
literally fish for them, before the coming of the disease QX, our
Sydney Rock Oysters were as good as they got. The oyster farmers
now are hoping to rebuild their livelihoods with disease-resistant
Pacifics. |
